For those of you who did not already receive my message, I changed my e-mail address to orbairey@yahoo.com because my previous one was deemed inappropriate for a job application by my business teacher. This means that the login information below can be used more freely and logging out isn't as crucial. I still ask that you not use it to log into my old GMail account. Thank you. If you have any trouble logging in, you can personally e-mail me or ask Danny as we've both had success with posting to the site.

Feb 23, 2008 – the one and only.

To Mom – still “Mom” and always “Mom”,

40 seemed so big to me once
50 seemed huge
60 unimaginable
70 ?
Grandpa, perhaps: a being of another world - another dimension.

And now my mother is 84.

It does not seem so old now, certainly not unimaginable.

Yet I have not been there – I am only getting close.

So although I know it is hard - and the effort is often huge.

It seems to be a strait we all will go through.

And be thankful for all we have had and still have.

Until then, thank you for being with us.

A un olmo seco
Al olmo viejo, hendido por el rayo y en su mitad podrido, con las lluvias de abril y el sol de mayoalgunas hojas verdes le han salido.
¡El olmo centenario en la colina que lame el Duero! Un musgo amarillentole mancha la corteza blanquecina al tronco carcomido y polvoriento.
No será, cual los álamos cantores que guardan el camino y la ribera, habitado de pardos ruiseñores.
Ejército de hormigas en hilera va trepando por él, y en sus entrañas urden sus telas grises las arañas.
Antes que te derribe, olmo del Duero,con su hacha el leñador, y el carpinterote convierta en melena de campana, lanza de carro o yugo de carreta; antes que rojo en el hogar, mañana, ardas en alguna mísera caseta, al borde de un camino; antes que te descuaje un torbellino y tronche el soplo de las sierras blancas;antes que el río hasta la mar te empujepor valles y barrancas, olmo, quiero anotar en mi cartera la gracia de tu rama verdecida. Mi corazón espera también, hacia la luz y hacia la vida, otro milagro de la primavera.

I'm looking into a way to make it so you guys can also post on the site. I think I'll just give out the administrator account e-mail address and password so you can all just post. Again, these plans are being formulated and I'll tell you all what's going on with that as soon as I can. Thanks for your support!

UPDATE - I've decided to allow you all to use my username and password to log on to this site and make posts yourself. Please don't give this information out to anyone to avoid a security breach. Here's a quick step-by-step on logging in and making a new post on the blog.

1) Navigate to http://bairey.blogspot.com/ .

2) At the top right corner of the screen, click "Sign In".

3) In the fields at the top right corner of the screen, input this information:

Username : the.mistaken.snafu
Password: asnafuisamistake

*The periods in the username are part of it, don't leave them out!

4) At the top right corner of the screen, click New Post.

5) Enter the title and content of the post in the fields provided.

6) Click the orange "PUBLISH POST" button just under the content entry box.

Done! Thanks for your support, check back for more updates!

NOTE - Please remember that this is my GMail account information too, as BlogSpot.com is linked to Google. Please don't use it to log into my e-mail account, and if you want to log into your own GMail account, you'll need to sign out of the Bairey Family Blog first. Thanks again!

Any Baireys who got my and mom's message, welcome welcome, to the new Bairey Family Blog! After Safta Elana's death, I felt it was more important that we connected. I got so much closer to you all over this past visit, however unfortunate the premise of mom and I being there. We've been out of contact, or at least not talking frequently enough, for far too long. This may be a feeling no one else has, but I feel like I've really lost touch with you all for the past few years. No family should be like that. So I hope this'll be a really fun thing to do that will help us connect and stay in touch. Ciao till next time!
